Common questions.
How long are commissions paid?
EchoClip pays you 15% on the customer's first 3 monthly invoices, or the first 1 annual invoice. After that, the customer becomes a renewal and the commission stops — but the discount they received stays with their account.
What does the customer see?
The referred customer gets 15% off their first 3 months on monthly plans, or 15% off the first annual invoice on annual plans. Your code can be auto-applied by your link, or entered directly in Stripe Checkout.
Is there a minimum payout?
Yes — $10. We hold commissions below that threshold and roll them into the next monthly run so Stripe's per-transfer fee doesn't eat your payout.
What happens if a referred user refunds?
We claw back the commission for any invoice that was refunded by Stripe. Pending commissions are marked clawed_back automatically; if a payout has already gone out, the deduction is applied against your next month's transfer.
Are self-referrals allowed?
No. Using your own code on your own account is blocked at checkout. Trying to circumvent this (sock-puppet accounts, etc.) is grounds for an immediate ban and forfeit of pending commissions.
Who issues my tax forms?
Stripe Express handles 1099-MISC issuance automatically for US affiliates above the IRS reporting threshold ($600/year). Non-US affiliates are responsible for declaring affiliate income in their own jurisdiction.
